Matchtech is supporting a key client with the requisition of a Test & Commissioning Engineer for a contract position in Birmingham. This role will involve delivering hands-on testing activities across site-based systems, supporting the safe and efficient progression through both static and dynamic commissioning phases.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute assigned testing activities in accordance with approved test plans and procedures
  • Undertake a range of testing activities, including functional testing, interface testing, and fault investigation and support for rectification
  • Accurately record, document, and submit test results in line with project requirements
  • Support testing activities during night shifts and weekends where required to meet programme needs
  • Work flexibly across multiple disciplines to maintain project progress and programme momentum
  • Identify, escalate, and track defects and safety issues in a timely and proactive manner


Key Interfaces:

  • Test, Integration & Commissioning (TIC) and Systems T&C Engineers
  • Discipline Engineers across relevant systems
  • Construction Supervisors and site teams


Job Requirements:

  • 4-8 years' Experience in rail testing within commissioning environments
  • Exposure to Light Rail, Metro, or Conventional Rail systems
  • Proven ability to operate effectively within time-critical, fast-paced commissioning programmes
